Cast iron scrap

I'm remodeling my bathroom, and as we pulled out the old bathtub, it cracked and got me to thinking of all the tubs and sinks at the Cliff House. After the fire, we were smashing up the tubs and sinks with sledge hammers to sell as scrap metal. The ironic part is that nowadays those same tubs are in great demand and sell easily for $300+ at our local building recycler. AT least they do in our neck of the woods (N.Calif).

There are several companies that do reclamation on designated-to-be-demolished places, I just don't know if you pay them or they pay you.

How about the Cliff House fireplaces? What some people wouldn't do now for those. I nearly teared up.

Hindsight is so 20-20.

And what I wouldn't do for a good old fashioned tub where you can actually stretch out!!!!! I guess some gov't. regulator is hoping we can't drown in 3" of water instead of 18". (duh.)
