Mr Phillips used to flip pancakes for unbelievable distances at the folks during the "breakfast rides" to Awosting Lake. Ken and Susie, his kids, were there to help You could take the horse drawn carriages for the 5 mile ride to the lake, or you could go on horseback. I chose horseback at about age 10 and was one sore little feller when we returned to our room at the Windermere hotel. The lake was crystal clear in those days. ( late 1950's, early 1960's)
