Wow. That was a great story and I throughly enjoy red reading it. So yes. We are related to the owners of the first house right across from the red barn. The two other houses were sisters of the first house. In essence related to the other two through marriage.

Re the pears: there is (or was, haven't been there in 5 years) a ruined orchard on Awosting Lake Road, not far from the current Minnewaska beach. It's a the foot of where the golf course was, I think. My son (I'd say this is 8 or 9 years ago), climbed a tree and bravely ate one of the apples. It was delicious (and insect free.) It's amazing how long fruit trees can produce with no tending.

What an amazing story. All I ever saw along Jenny Lane was barely recognized remnants of foundations. Who knew such a history existed? Thanks for sharing.
