Is the Park open for Snowshoeing
Just wanted to know if the park is open now - I wanted to snowshoe to Lake Awosting

Yes, a limited number of trails in Minnewaska State Park have reopened per a January 20 notice on the New York / New Jersey Trail Conference's Trail Closures web page. It mentions that the Upper Awosting - Castle Point Loop is open and groomed (I assume for XC Skiing). It only mentions snowshoeing being permitted in the Beacon Hill area, and snowshoes are available for rental at the park office. There is no mention of the Lake Shore Carriageway around Lake Awosting being open yet.
The Minnewaska State Park website has basically the same information, with the park office phone number: 845-255-0752. You might want to call the Minnewaska Park office to obtain the most current trail status in the park.
