Re: Tec. Question
In simple terms you need to have your photo in a public place on the internet with a .jpg (or other supported image suffix). You need to know the full URL of that photo (starts with http:// and ends with .jpg Then you imbed the URL between IMG and /IMG tags (with square brackets). You can use the IMG button on the post creation page on this forum. The button will generate the two tags and leave the cursor set between the tags where you need to paste in the .jpg URL.Christian wrote:how do i paste a picture to a forum topic? If you do not already have an internet photo location; there are many free and/or pay websites where you can upload, store, organize, and then "inline" your photos. Many are listed here. I use the free version of Webshots. Webshots generates the necessary linkages which makes the inline process very easy. You can copy and paste those linkages directly into this forum. Webshots also allows the photo to be displayed in 5 different sizes from 100 pixels up to 600 pixels. You can either have the photo merely display here (I am using a 200 pixel image only to save space):

Or you can have the photo become a clickable link which will take a reader from the forum into your Webshots photo gallery (so that they can see a larger image):

You can find these linkages by clicking the second image above. Page forward to find the box titled "link to this picture". You click on the desired size: 100, 200, 450, 500, or 600 pixels. And you can click on "preview this size" to check how the image will appear. The 450 and 500 sizes will fit nicely within most forums. The linkage for the first image above is under "direct link to image". You will need to add the IMG tags around this as described above. The linkage for the second clickable is under "post in a forum". This linkage is more complex as it combines the IMG linkage above with URL hot link tags. You can copy that link verbatim into a forum post. Other photo sharing websites should generate similar linkages.
I hope I did not make this too complicated. It is fairly easy once you get the hang of it. If you want to view my linkages and tags in this post. hit the "QUOTE button. You can back out without posting a reply.
