Hello all,
I have seen some absolutely great captures from the Lake Minnewaska area. I am planning on visiting the area, mainly for nature/wildlife photography and just watching time go by. Does anyone have any recommendations? Waterfalls/Lakes/overlooks/etc, I saw the maps on the front page, I'm sure they will come in very handy.

It's really hard not to find great scenery in this area. In no particular order .....
1) The carriageway walk to Castle Point from Lake Minnewaska has some great scenery
2) The views east from Millbrook Mountain
3) Gertrudes Nose - 3 sides of awesomeness
3) Verkeerderkill Falls - the must have shot of waterfalls in the gunks, locals call it katiekill falls
4) Awosting Falls
5) Awosting Lake (also seen from Castle Point)
6) The pulloff on the right side of 44/55 as you begin to descend into Kerhonkson has great Catskill views on a clear day.
Don't count out the numerous hikes in Mohonk Preserve for great view too...
